Does it matter if I have been ripping cd's "securely" before having my drive read cache detected? It was set to 1024kb and after I ran the test it set to 75kb. I just wanna make sure there was no loss in quality because of this.

 Re: Drive Read Cache

anything over the real read cache does not matter, 1024 is the default because it works for all drives.

 Re: Drive Read Cache

Rather than start a new thread, I thought that I would just "piggyback" on this one.

 Both of my drives are: HL-DT-ST - DVD+-RW GH50N

When I run the Drive Read Cache test in dBpoweramp, the result I get is "39KB (17 frames)".

I also ran CacheX several times - with each run performing 10 tests. The result was "36 kB / 16 sectors". (Occasionally, one of the tests in a run would report a lower number, but none were higher.

What Drive Read Cache setting would you recommend for me in dBpoweramp? 39 - or a higher value?

 Thank you!Comment
