    changes does not take effect

I have noticed that when sometimes editing the flac-files metadata the changes will not "go through" or "take effect". Is this common or something I have done wrong?

The flac files are stored locally? which changes are being done, tags deleted?

yes, locally on an external harddrive, (not a NAS).

One example: In perfectmeta I was suggested an incorrect album title, changed it in dbpoweramp.

when viewing that post in my handheld device for controlling my linn sneaky the incorrect title was still there

then tried to edit the flac files in my harddrive, but this did not "take effect"

You changed the album title by right clicking on a file >> Edit ID Tags? if so then after doing the change, right click >> Edit ID Tags again to view the current state of the file.

          that's correct, right-clicked, etc.

the changes are really there (in the file on my harddrive), but will not show up in my device for controlling my database

It is likely the issue lies with the UPnP Server on your NAS

If you have automatic scan detection disabled in Asset, invoke a scan (Refresh Detecting Changes) from Asset Configuration. Also use Kinsky desktop to browse asset incase the other control point is caching the albums.

Try a Rescan (Refresh All), this will force the re-reading of ID Tags.
