I am surprised by differences in CD ripping performance between two systems I have, and wonder if anyone can explain it, or offer a possible fix to look for.
Both systems are running WIN7 Home, have 4-6GB RAM and SSD system drives.
On one system I have an LG BH10LS30 BluRay writer and it might get 1.3X
On the other I have a Matshita UJ-8A8 DVD-R and it gets 2.5X
Specs don't seem any real different yet the first system (workstation) is slow as a dog. The second system (laptop) blows it away. In all other functions, the workstation is quite a bit faster than the laptop.
I'd prefer to do the ripping on the workstation but not at real time.
Any clues why the difference, or ideas for a fix? Thanks in advance!
