    Naming scripts for opera

What naming scripts are people using, specifically for opera? Actually, I'm resigned to ripping all my operas, discovering, over time, the flaws in my naming script and then having to rip all over again. Still, advice sooner than later very welcome!

It's brutal. For example, with the Giulini versions of Figaro and Don Giovanni, only MusicBrainz shows the Act and Scene, but all its other fields are wrong, so I wind up having to cut and paste to a text document and then repaste into the MusicBrainz results - for each disc of the set.

Also, I upgraded to 14 because of the new feature of the "Sonata" database which is supposed to be specifically for classical music but it doesn't appear in the list.

On the positive side, I've found two advantages of 14.2:

    1) it lets you offset track numbers by "50" and "100" - very convenient
    2) MusicBrainz finally works - before it almost never produced any results

Back to opera, the AMG is very annoying - each track has the same name - the name of the opera and it's K. number - no other info. And music brainz has the desired info, but preceded by the name of the opera which makes the track name so long that it puts you in danger of hitting the 256 character path limitation.

Yes, I was wondering about Sonata too... Having ripped all the classical and opera stuff now, I have no doubt that in due course I'll have a Eureka moment (possibly after having read the manual!) and have to rip them all over again - such is the search for perfection

I came across a Weber opera where the second disc appeared as a Pulp CD. Much head-scratching went on until I discovered it was a Pulp CD! No idea how that got in there; if in doubt, blame your children
