    Classical music

Is dBpoweramp any good for ripping classical music or opera CDs? For the first
one I've tried (Karajan's Carmen with Agnes Baltsa), dBpoweramp shows the
same info for CD2 and CD3 as it did for CD1 and wants to overwrite. Also, does it insert inappropriate pauses between tracks?

Install R14.2 (from the beta section of this forum), the new beta version is needed to fix CD2 appearing as CD1.

The pauses are kept between tracks.

Actually, the beta has made no difference to the problem for this particular opera. I've had to alter every track manually. It's behaved better with Werther, though.

Later: back to its old tricks with Handel's Orlando (Les Arts Florissants). This makes ripping classical music a serious pain

You would have to click the Meta button again, otherwise for these previously ripped discs, it will read from the local cache. After pressing Meta, you can click 'Review Metadata' to quickly correct using a different provider if the first main provider is wrong.
