    Can't find CD drive

    Have been using dBpoweramp (reference version) to rip CDs for a couple of weeks. Just got the message <No CD drive found> when I started the program today. Even tried rebooting but no difference. Can see the CD drive via iTunes & My Computer so its def there.

    Any suggestions? Do I need to provide any other info to help?

    dBpoweramp Configuration >> Music Converter tab

    and enable the debug option (click ok). Then start Cd ripper and exit CD ripper, it should show a debug log in notepad, paste it here please.

      Using SCSI PassThrough [clCDDA::SetCommunication]
      ->-> [frmMain::RefreshTrackListing]
      Quitting Meta Thread: Quit
      ->-> [clCDDA::ReturnDriveList]
      Got drive C:\ ** not CD Rom, type: 3 [cddaSCSIPassTru::FillDriveList]
      Got drive D:\ ** not CD Rom, type: 3 [cddaSCSIPassTru::FillDriveList]
      Error Cannot Open Drive [cddaSCSIPassTru::GetDriveInfo]
      Got drive E:\ CD ROM ** ERROR getting drive info [cddaSCSIPassTru::FillDriveList]
      Got drive G:\ ** not CD Rom, type: 3 [cddaSCSIPassTru::FillDriveList]
      Got drive I:\ ** not CD Rom, type: 2 [cddaSCSIPassTru::FillDriveList]
      Got drive J:\ ** not CD Rom, type: 2 [cddaSCSIPassTru::FillDriveList]
      Got drive K:\ ** not CD Rom, type: 2 [cddaSCSIPassTru::FillDriveList]
      Got drive L:\ ** not CD Rom, type: 2 [cddaSCSIPassTru::FillDriveList]
      <-<- [clCDDA::ReturnDriveList]
      <-<- [frmMain::RefreshTrackListing]

      Hope this helps

        Something on your system is blocking low level access to the CD drive, you could change the communication option (on the options page) to 'Windows Built In'

          Thanks - tracked it down to the anti-virus system (Kaspersky). No idea why it suddenly decided after 2 weeks of operation that dbpoweramp wasn't to be trusted.

            I'm certainly not an expert in computers, but it seems to me that Kaspersky does some strange things to this program. On another computer I had, dbpoweramp worked perfectly for a few days then suddenly (without changing any settings) I was having difficulties with the eject feature. It seems from my research that Kaspersky may be the cause of a lot of strange issues with dbpoweramp.
