Wndows 7 issue?

Bought a new laptop with Windows 7 64 bit. Downloaded dBpoweramp Reference R14.1. Was working fine until recently. When I click eject, a blue DOS like screen appears and tells me there is a critical problem and machine has to close down. I can still use manual eject and otherwise dBpoweramp works fine. Any help gratefully appreciated.

What make of laptop do you have? What is the cd drive on the laptop?
