I've been using EAC to rip my CD collection. dBpoweramp looks very attractive becuase of better features and the ability to use the apple lossless codec as well as LAME MP3. However, my iPod will skip certain songs ripped with dB.
I tested out dB ripping to MP3 with LAME. The audio extraction and compression goes fine. The metadata looks correct. The files are in my iTunes folder and show up in iTunes on my PC. Howerver, my iPod skips certain songs in explicably. It happens about 10% of the time and I can't predict which ones it will affect. If I re-rip using EAC, it works fine.
Since I'm converting a large number of CD's, I don't have time to test each one and I can't trust dBpoweramp.
I'm running 32-bit Vista.
