dc ripper randomly creating .fla files not .flac

When using dbpoweramp to rip my classical music collection to FLAC I found that on many CDs random tracks have ended up as .fla files while others (on the same CD) were correctly ripped to FLAC. In all cases the program signalled that the rip was accurate (and they seem to play ok) but the file name has been replaced with something like: "DM0F5A~1.FLA". Do I have to re-rip to correct this?

Where are you ripping to, a local HDD, or network?

I am ripping to a HDD. The strange thing is that after several hundred cds it has only occurred when ripping classical cds! I recall in most cases dbpoweramp was set to "ultra-secure" mode.

This is a short filename, you should not see this. Which security software are you using?

McAfee Security Scan Plus. The problem seems to have occured around the same time - out of over 20,000 tracks ripped only 178 have ended up with these short file names and .FLA extensions. If I change the extension to .FLAC then the meta data is again visible - are these realy .FLA files or misnamed .FLACs?

            Miss-named flac files.

thanks Spoon, renaming will probably be quickerthan re-riping - but only just. Any idea how this could have happened?

You should never see this, in the last 10 years I have never heard of it (where the program tries to create a long filename: 12345678901234567.flac and ends up with the short version 1234567~9.fla)
