    Different CRC32

I just tested ripping by using dBpoweramp CD Ripper and CUERipper.
Both I set offset to 48 and they confirmed that all tracks are ripped accurately.

The AccurateRip CRC from both dBpoweramp and CUERipper are the same.
But CRC32 (not AccurateRip's one) are different. Is this because the different encoder between two software? And if yes, there will be difference in sound between them? Because I'm not confidence even AccurateRip CRC are matched but CRC32 are not matched.

for example, for track 1, AccurateRip CRC for both software are the same which is 96580A1C. But CRC32 are different, dBpoweramp's result gives CF827244 but CUERipper's result gives D8B0606D. :headbang:

    Re: Different CRC32

They might be calculating a different crc32, such as the whole file including Id tags, rather than just the audio.

I have used Calculate Audio CRC Utility from dBpoweramp. And they matched with the report. So I think CUERipper calculate audio CRC not the whole file.

Both software said they've accurately ripped. But when I compare those CRC32, they are different. I don't know which one to choose.

Try with Eac as well, then you have a 3rd to compare to.

Well, setting up EAC is not easy for me. (That's why I choose dBpoweramp)
I tried to make AccurateRip to work for my emulated drive.
It said it need 3 more key discs to enable AccurateRip but I don't have 3 audio images for that

I didn't test with EAC due to some difficulties.
But I've tested with Foobar2000 with AccurateRip feature enabled.

I performed checksum the result from Foobar2000. CRC32, MD5, AccurateRip CRC are matched with CUERipper's output files.

I think dBpoweramp should not report as accurately ripped. The AccurateRip CRC from log file and Calculate Audio CRC utility are also different.

D8B0606D, where did this come from, Cueripper its self, or the [calculate audio crc]? (if not [calculate audio crc] then run it on the cueripper files)

                    >I think dBpoweramp should not report as accurately ripped.

Why not? the AccurateRip CRC is the same for all programs, you just need to find out why your testing methodolgy is giving different CRC results later on (FLAC has a built in MD5 of the uncompressed data which went into it, any corruption would show on decoding).

If you have no dsp effects in use then the data is saved exactly as ripped. Also with flac is an option to verify the written audio.

With cue ripper and footer you would have to make sure the correct drive offset is set
