    metadata lost

    Hi,

When I rip my CDs recently, the metadata tag didn't show on the files completely. Much information are lost. I checked "Review Metadata" and press "OK", but it won't work. How can I retrieve the data? Thanks!

Click the Metadata button at the top to reget the metadata live from the internet. The Review metadata has nothing to do with already ripped files (they will contain the metadata in ID Tags).

I have the same problem, both under Windows XP and under Windows 7 (Parallels 6, 10.7 Lion) I sometimes loose the metadata, mainly title, but also Composer, Artist, ecc.
The strange thing is that sometimes it works perfectly and sometimes not with the same CD!!
Anyone an idea how to work around the problem?

Select Review metadata to choose from a different provider

            Hallo

no the issue is different: I see the metadata, eventually correct them, but after ripping when I control the FLAC file using mp3tag, the metadata are lost. This does NOT happen when I do the same using dbpoweramp under Windows XP !!

Thus, I guess this is an issue of dbpoweramp under Windows 7!!

Immediately after ripping, if you right click on the flac file and select Edit ID-Tag, do you see the correct tags?

                Hi,

I have slightly different situation, but perhaps similar circumstances.

I've ripped a CD, with dbpoweramp, using the multi encoder.

Tags show up OK on the FLAC and MP3 files, but are missing on the WAV file.

When I right click and select Edit ID Tag, I can see the files on the WAV file, so they must be there. However, I can't see them in either my music player (Music Bee), or in MP3tag.

                Any suggestions?

The programs you mention must not be able to read Wave ID Tags.

                    Thanks,

You appear to be half correct. MP3tag doesn't appear to read WAV tags (it does read wavepak - .wv, which is a compressed format and altogether different).

But, MusicBee does read WAV tags. Not sure what the issue was, but I uninstalled and reinstalled dbpoweramp and all does seem OK now. I had installed the registered version over the beta and I suspect this exacerbated some problem I already had with the beta.
