    reversed rips

    Hey guys,

I ripped a CD in 2009 and ripped it again a couple of days ago.
I noticed that L+R was reversed.

So I just ripped the same CD about 8 times with dbpoweramp, did it the same every time and 2 of about 8 times L+R was reversed.

Is there a way to know if it's specific to the CD, or dbpoweramp or my LG : HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55N 1.05 drive ?

Any ideas what would be causing this ?

    Thanks for any help.

    Cheers

    Re: reversed rips

If they are swapped then it is a fault of the CD drive as it is impossible for any ripping program to request the data in a reversed state (data is delivered in whole sectors of 2352 bytes / 4 = 588 samples of L + R)

      Re: reversed rips

I ripped a CD about 8 times and it was reversed once maybe twice.
I ripped another CD and the 6th time it was reversed.
They were both old scratched up original CD's.
I've ripped a few burned CD-R's in good condition about 10 times each and all were OK.

I don't know if it makes sense but for now I'm going to say the reverse rips only seems to be happening with old scratched up CD's....
