    Converting FLAC to MP3

Hi, I was just wondering if I converted my FLAC music collection to MP3s (320Kbps or VBR -V 0), if I will get any quality loss? I also heard that you're not supposed to convert FLAC files to VBR, is this true?

    Theoretically yes
FLAC is a loseless format, MP3 is a lossy format.

It's analogous to BMP versus JPG.

Whether you can perceive a difference is entirely a subjective matter.

Not that I heard there are any problems with FLAC to VBR conversion. A good converter should not produce any problems.

Yeah sorry, I meant loss in quality as in ripping a CD directly to MP3 vs. converting to MP3.

      Thanks a lot.

No, converting from flac is the same as ripping a CD (if it came from a CD in the first instance).
