    Set File Naming question

    [IFCOMP][IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],Various Artists[]\[album]\[track] [artist][][IF!COMP][IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[artist][]\[album]\[artist] - [track][] - [title]

    Hi Spoon

I tonight updated to R14 and I noticed the 'Naming' field for R14 is different. When I was on R13, the Naming field, by default, it was '"Save in dynamic Artist folder', now it's [IFCOMP.....(as above).

What is the difference and why the change? Looks like the new value is for compilations, correct? Which Naming Field should I use?

Your naming string has not changed, just the default has changed, hence it no longer shows yours as the default. If you click naming and 'default' you will get the new naming value.

You are referring to clicking the 'Set' button next to the 'Naming' field. A new pop-up window will display and then click the 'Default' button regardless of what string value is in the 'naming' field?

Yesterday, I downloaded a trial verion on my laptop to test the multi set Cd issues I've been having. I needed a separate environment. On that trial version, the Naming String is:

      [IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[IFCOMP]Various Artists\[disc][][IF!COMP][artist][][]\[album]\[track] [artist] - [title]

But last night with my registered version on my home desktop of R14, the naming string is:

      [IFCOMP][IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],Various Artists[]\[album]\[track] [artist][][IF!COMP][IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[artist][]\[album]\[artist] - [track][] - [title]

Which is the correct one to use?

Yes click default as you describe.

There is no correct and non-correct, it is just file naming.
