weird error message while trying to install my registerd ref pack

I have windows xp pro 32 bit service pack 1 currently on my mac with virtulization software paralells 5.0.

I went to retrieve my registration ref pack 14 & about 3/4 of the way through the install, I get a message;

entry point couldn't be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll

I kept clicking on this message & it took quite a few clicks before it would go away.

I would then have to cancel the installation

I tried this with both my ref 14 & 13,5 versions.

You need Service Pack 3 or newer
