I am using the LG GCC-4480B drive in my old PC for ripping CDs, under the assumption that as long as I get Accuraterip oks, nothing else matters.
However, I am finding that almost always, by the time the ripping gets to the higher numbered tracks, the drive rips "insecurely" and therefore the process is interrupted. Trying again, yields the same result. Ripping the same CD in my much newer laptop (which I do not want to use for this), works fine.
Can I assume that I should replace my CD reader/burner with something newer?
(In case someone wants to suggest a replacement model --I know there is already a separate string discussing this--, keep in mind that I need an IDE drive.)
