accurate rip query

I'm still new, but trying to understand what this actually implies.

the idea of accurate ripping is for ripping original cd's not for ripping a burned cd.
Why then if i put a burned CD in and rip with accurate settings on would i still get good numbers in the confidence rating?

or more the point what does this actually mean about the rip?

AccurateRip can also verify CD-Rs, normally you writing a disc would write at a different offset, so ineffect you have a different pressing, R14 of dBpoweramp can cross check across pressings and match with the original.
