Something went wrong when I upgraded to R14. Encoding was already a bit slow to start, but now it just does not start. Reading is fine, but when it stops reading the encoding just does not start. The image below shows the first two tracks already read, but encoding has not started after more than 9 minutes. What could be wrong?

Re: Not encoding with R14?
Hi:
I started to have the same problem with R13. In my case after ripping the first two songs, the songs were encoded up to 95% to 99% and after that it stopped.
Thinking that some files could be corrupted, I upgrade to R14. Still having the same problem.
Did you solve your problem? -

Re: Not encoding with R14?
Try this:
...also how to do a full reset of dBpoweramp? (if dBpoweramp crashes for some reason) Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings? It is installed to c:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp or c:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp The 64 bit version of dBpoweramp is installed to: c:\Program Files\dBpoweramp It
And clear dBpoweramp and all settings, then reinstall (registered version) and try ripping on the default settings.Comment

Re: Not encoding with R14?
Spoon,
I removed the whole thing and reinstalled version 13.5. Ripping using all default settings went really fast. Encoding started right away and only a few tracks stayed at 99% for a few seconds.
I then enabled secure ripping. Encoding does not start right away. It takes from 1 to 4 minutes to start after reading is complete.
Any ideas?

Re: Not encoding with R14?
Is C2 pointers checked under secure settings? or is overread checked?Comment

Re: Not encoding with R14?
Just enabled secure ripping. Have not enabled Ultra Secure, and have not had a chance to go through the C2 Support detection this time around so C2 pointers is not cheked. I do not see an "overread" option.
Thanks.Comment

Re: Not encoding with R14?
Spoon,
So I removed R14, installed R13.5
With default settings, works great
Just by enabling secure ripping, encoding starts being delayed up to several minutes. No Ultra Secure or C2 Pointers.
Any other ideas to help me understand what could be happening?

Re: Not encoding with R14?
What audio format are you encoding to? try ripping to 'Test Conversion' with secure settings enabled.Comment

Re: Not encoding with R14?
I am using Replay Gain and HDCD. When you asked to rip using default settings, I only did it on the secure settings. I forgot I had already selected these two DSP settings.
Anyway, I tested and the culprit is the HDCD DSP. Without it it runs smooth and fast.
I really don't need HDCD, but it would be interesting to understand what is happening. I selected HDCD since I installed the ripper for the first time a few months ago, and initially I never had a problem.
