ID-Tag problem during playback with Denon AV-receiver

    Hi,

I'm experiencing a weird problem during playback on a Denon AV-receiver with files than have been ripped and tagged by dBpoweramp CD Ripper.

The last character of the track, albumname etc. is "cut off", e.g. instead of displaying "Track 01" the display (onscreen and display on receiver) shows "Track 0", "Name of Album" will be displayed as "Name of Albu" etc.

According to the Denon-Support this has something to do with the settings of the software tagging the files. Apparently changing the settings to "ID3v2.3, Characterset: ISO-8859-1" or "Write Unicode data into ID3v2 tags" will solve the problem (and this has been confirmed by a couple of users on the internet using software like MP3tag).

The options within CD ripper don't allow to make such kind of adjustments (or I'm missing them).

    Any way to fix this?!

    Thanks a lot.

dBpoweramp Configuration >> Codecs >> Settings

Here you can set the id3v2 Unicode or not (ansi), but it does sound like a bug on the denon.

Thanks for the super-quick feedback. I totally had forgotten about the dedicated configuration folder.

Changing to unicode did the trick and the files are being displayed just fine.
I don't think Denon will change their firmware as they say changing to unicode solves the problem.

Anyway...problem (nearly) solved. Is there a way how I could "batch convert" my existing files from "Ansi" to "Unicode". I'd hate to rip all the CDs all over again.

Install the Update ID Tag utility codec and use Batch Converter to convert all the files to this utility codec.

The Update ID Tag utility unfortunately didn't solve the problem. At least not with the Denon. So I need to re-rip all CDs.
