    PerfectMeta Sources

Question re PerfectMeta, which unfortunately isn't easy to get across in writing.

Why is it that sometimes the program seems to be pulling metadata only from one source? This happens even when I have all the different metadata sources checked off on meta "options." However, right before the metadata appears, only "AMG," for example, will show up in that temporary dialogue box. And, when I review the metadata and expect to see three or four different sources worth of metadata, the buttons for AMG, GD3, etc. are greyed out. Is there a way to reset this, so that all the metadata reports are available when I review metadata?

Perhaps that disc is only in one database?

My first thought too, but it's not; if I uncheck AMG and re-run PerfectMeta, it will pull metadata from GD3 only. And the same thing happens if I go to review metadata; all the individual source buttons are greyed out. Strange. I'm just going to try to reboot and use some other discs and see what happens. This was only causing a persistent problem on one of the computers I was using.

This thing is definitely messing with me. I just uninstalled, reinstalled, and rebooted, and it's still doing the same thing. I get only AMG metadata if AMG is checked off (regardless of whether others are), and if I uncheck AMG, I get GD3. It's as if there's some semi-permanent setting for it to show only one metadata report. Any other ideas as to how I may have screwed this up, or improperly configured it? Or how it can be corrected?

PerfectMeta, AMG, GD3, MusicBrainz and freedb should all be checked.

I'm also having trouble with this.

I've put in Abba Gold to test - an album which will be in all databases.

The album art is not even coming up. When I try to go onto Review Perfect Metamatches - I cant - it is greyed out.

In addition within settings in the meta dropdown, I can only pick up AMG and freedb.

I dont even get the option to check all databses in the Meta section of options.

I have a valid AMG licence.

            Any help appreciated.

Please upload a screen shot of the metadrop menu to somewhere like imageshack:

OK, sorry for the delay; the computer on which this is occurring I only have access to on the weekends. Here is a screenshot of what's going on:

All the meta options are checked when this happens. Many thanks for the assistance, SB

                    Re: PerfectMeta Sources

Just to expand on this a bit, if only freedb is checked, it repors metadata from freedb. If freedb and GD3 are checked, it reports meta from freedb. If MusicBrainz, GD3, and freedb are checked, it reports from MusicBrainz. And if all are checked, it reports from AMG only.

Apologies; I just reread your post and realized you wanted a screenshot of the metadrop, not the review-meta display. I'm struggling to figure out how to do this, because every time I click over to the snipping tool the drop menu recedes. Hope to be able to get this soon . . .

OK, I'm a complete maroon. I can see just from looking at my own image that PerfectMeta was unchecked. Not sure how that happened. Anyway, thanks for the attention. If there wasn't someone else in this thread I'd ask for it to be deleted to spare myself the embarrassment.

If perfectmeta is not switched on then only the first provider is used.

                            @matt

If the disc has be previously read then it will be in the dBpoweramp Local cache and will not list on that page you posted the screen shot for. Instead press the metadata button to re-read from the internet.
