Incorrect offset value for DVD-RAM UJ890AS

    Hi,

After having successfully ripped more than 150 albums on another computer I have now a new ASUS X52J laptopp with a MATSHITA CD Drive: DVD-RAM UJ890AS. It appears that the offset value for this (+102) is not correct. The same albums that I on my old computer ripped OK no longer works. It appears the checksum is not correct, every track fails, i.e. does not match the data base.

I have checked the driver sw for the DVD-RAM, but it seams I got the latest version. Any suggestion what to do?

CD Ripper >> Options and under Drive Offset, clear it so that it will re-find the drive offset.

      Hi again,

Thanks for your suggestion but the result is the same unfortunately.

I have reset the offset value several times but the CD-ripper failes to find another offest value, I have used 3 different CD's which I know for certain are OK.

After I have zero the offest value AccurateRIP reconfigures it back to 102+ again. I have tried both "cancel" and "reconfigure" options when AccurateRIP asks to configure/find the offset value.

When I rip CD's, every track goes through the same process: rip -> ultra secure 1-> ultra secure 2 -> re-rip frames. The end result are same for all tracks "X AR i Secure" so all CD's seams to be ripped OK but my CRC value is not the same as the AccurateRIP data base CRC value.
The same ripped files also plays well in my system (WD NAS -> T+A Music Player MKII streaming client) so they appear to be correctly ripped.

Any suggestion what to do next?

        Try disabling C2 pointers.

          Hi Again,

Great, it works now with C2 Error Pointers deactivated.
I just ripped 8 albums that verified OK towards AccurateRIP data base.
Strange that it does not work with C2 Error Pointers active, what do you think is the reason, could it be a driver sw fault?

          Any further actions recommended?

          Thanks for the support!

No, seems an issue in the software which relates to this specific drive:

Hello I've just upgraded from Reference 13 to 14. I completely uninstalled 13 and used the "reset" utility to wipe settings (not necessary i know). Now with R14 the ripping process is not functioning correctly. The drive is running at minimum speeds, with every track going to the second "Ultra-Secure" run

It will be investigated for R14.1
