Custom Tags Not Stored in Local Cache

    Spoon...

We create custom tags for such things as Producer, UPC, Label, Location and Copyright when ripping CDs using R13.5 or now R14.

Note: We create the custom tag UPC even though it is also checked in the Write ID Tags list. Otherwise, this field name does not show up in the Meta Data for All Tracks display at the bottom of the CD Ripper window.

After ripping the CD, these tags are written to our FLAC files correctly. This is of course as expected and thus good.

However, when and if the CD is put back in the drive tray at a later time, the data for the custom tags does not reappear, even when only the local (dbpoweramp) cache is interrogated.

How can this be fixed so that all of the album meta data is retained locally?

    TIA

Have you set the cache to large enough to store all discs? normally it is only ~ 10 discs.

It stores the basic tags (Artist, Genre, etc.) but not the custom ones such as UPC, Producer, Copyright, etc.

How does one set the cache size?

      TIA....

Can one copy the cache from one computer to another? If so, how?

Re: Custom Tags Not Stored in Local Cache

I'd like an answer to this question, please:

The local cache does not store all of the tags written to the CD. Why, and and this be fixed? It cannot have anything to do with a limited cache size.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, UPC, Producer, Copyright and other custom tags do not reappear if the CD is re-inserted shortly after ripping. This is not expected nor desirable behavior.

              TIA...

I too can confirm the custom tags are not be stored (or possibly read) in the cache. Maybe this is by design. i.e. The custom tags are only fixed value tags, as set in Meta Data ID Tag Options.
