    Import into CDRipperCache.bin

MP3Tag has a great export feature where I can export all my MP3 tags (over 1800 CD's) into a .txt file.

Is there any way to import tags into the CDRipperCache.bin?

    TIA

It is a proprietary file, mp3tag cannot write to it.

I do not want MP3Tag to write to the CDRipperCache.bin, I want the ability to import a .txt file into CDRipperCache.bin. Is this possible?

OK. I can export from MP3Tag to cdplayer.ini.

How do I get CD Ripper (R14 beta) to read from the cdplayer.ini. It does not seem to be reading the cdplayer.ini currently.

There is an option on the drop menu of metadata.

The manual Retreive From CDPlayer.ini option in the drop menu of metada (R14 3 August 2010) does not get the track names.

CDPLayer.ini is a little past its sell by date, especially as Windows Vista / 7 stop reading or writing to the folder it is contained within (C:\Windows)

Agreed, hence my earlier request to import data from a .txt file into CD Ripper.

Spoon, can you confirm that the manual Retreive From CDPlayer.ini option in the drop menu of metada (R14 3 August 2010) is broken?. If it is, why does the option still exist?

Also, are there any other Retreive From sources that do not work?

                    TIA

It worked fine in XP when I tested. Other programs might use a different cdplayer.ini stored on the computer, or even different disc Ids in the cdplayer.ini

I've done some more testing on CD Ripper R14 and the cdplayer.ini. (Windows 7, 64-bit, cdplayer.ini resides in the c:\windows directory).

                        1. On, CD eject, CD Ripper wrties the following to cdplayer.ini:

CDID, artist, title, genre, comment, year, EntryType, numtracks, numplay, tracktitles and trackartist (if the artist differs from track to track).

                        2. On CD insert, if no other sources are selected in the Meta drop down except cdplayer.ini, CD Ripper reads the following from cdplayer.ini:

album, artist, comment, genre, year and tracktitles.

                        3. On CD insert, if the Retreive from cdplayer.ini option is used, CD Ripper reads the following from cdplayer.ini:

album, artist, comment, genre, year, but NO tracktitles.

                        4. On subsequent attempts using the Retreive from cdplayer.ini option, CD Ripper reads NO data from cdplayer.ini. Selecting the Refresh button allows the Retreive from cdplayer.ini option to work again, but still without the tracktitles.

So, I see only 2 small issues here. Firstly, the Retreive from cdplayer.ini option needs to read tracktitles and secondly, this option needs to work every time it is selected.

Here's to hoping this can be fixed soon.

If you restart CD Ripper then it is able to read again from cdplayer.ini?
