    Advice on ripping soundtracks/compilations

    Hi guys,

Thanks for a great product, I've been using the Reference version for months to rip my cd collection and it is fantastic!

I've came across an anomaly when ripping various artists/soundtracks.

Take for example, the Natural Born Killers soundtrack I ripped.

It ripped to flac correctly, and the artist was named as Soundtrack, fair enough.

But I also rip to AAC with the BAtch Converter. When I went to find my ripped files, they were all ripped by artist, the artists all had individual folders, then a folder with "Natural Born Killers" in it, then the AAC song file.

Is there an alternative way to convert for compilations like this? It was a real pain to locate all the various artists when adding my tracks to iTunes, horrible!

    Thanks

when you ripped to FLAC did you select the Compilations button. You should when track artists vary.

      Hi there,

I'm sure I did this-the actual flac files are properly structured in proper folders, the problem happens after batch converting flac to aac.

They are then split into the individual artists, in the folderfor my lossy stuff.

I think I'll have to adjust my naming/foldr structure when the converter does its stuff-can I keep different profiles for different types of albums?

I think I have it setto dynamically do the names, etc

see this thread. you can recreate the same file structure in your conversion if you use the dynamic naming approach mentioned in this thread:

I'm probably missing something very simple here, but I'll ask the question... I have my original files in: C:\Music\FLAC I create: C:\Music\OGG I want to use the Batch Converter to mirror the FLAC collection in the OGG folder, using the same folder structure. But if I set up the batch converter as follows: Folder:
