My Problem:
I was building myself a new gaming system and didn't want to include my old IDE Plextor PX-716A because I don't need use it that often anymore, but I still wanted to be able to use dbpoweramp with the drive to rip all new audio cd's that I buy from now on.
My Solution:
I picked up a Vantec NexStar DX external 5.25" IDE to USB enclosure at TigerDirect and installed my PX-716A. Plugged it into USB, installed dbpoweramp 13.4 (Windows 7 x64) and set it up for Secure ripping and it's working just as beautiful with the same accuracy and results as it did when I had it installed internally via IDE. Now after ripping a new cd, I can unplug the drive and put it away until the next time I need it.
I wasn't sure how well this would work when I tried it, but it works fantastic so I thought I would post this message letting others know.
Thanks Spoon, I couldn't live without dbpoweramp!
