X-platform CD to lossless formats noise

I've noticed errors on tracks from several new CDs I've ripped recently. The CD tracks have no audible errors, but when I rip them to the computer, tracks will have skips and static in them.

I've used iTunes, WMP, and now dbpoweramp for ripping to Apple Lossless (preferred, since I have an iPod), to WMA and to FLAC. The track I've been testing lately is from Collide's mix album "Vortex," track 13, "Frozen." The errors crop up when about 2' 30" remain, for about a five-ten second stretch.

I've tried this on two computers and two CD/DVD burners (Plextor and Samsung), and the error always occurs in the same place. I can't see any flaw in the CD that would cause this (it's new), and I can't hear anything when playing the CD through iTunes or WMP.

Any idea what might cause this, or how to correct it? Or, is there a site to buy/download original tracks in lossless format? thanks in advance!

*Edit* I went through the track again, and it seems--if one listens very carefully--that there is some noise in the recording (or from the CD, I don't know which). The noise seems to increase when ripped to the lossless formats though, and skips also occur.

The CD might have a manufacturing defect, or even some CDs have been known to contain skips in the audio, they were mastered incorrectly.
