Rips to different formats, one Accurate, other Errors

I rip same CD. Rip to Apple lossless is 80% "Error". Rip to mp3 at highest setting is 80% "Accurate"??
Any ideas?
I rarely had problems with EAC.
Downside to not using "Ultra Secure"?
