CDs that rip with insecure warning & errors

I have been ripping through my cd collection & quite a few have ripped with insecure Waring & errors. Is there any way to determine how bad the errors are? with some of them, they play fine on a cd player, yet still rip with errors. I tried a problematic cd in this program & EAC one time & in EAC it showed the audio quality in a percentage, like 97% even though there were errors in the song, so it must not have been serious, as the song did not skip in a cd player. Is there any way to see the quality like this in dbpoweramp?

In the settings, ask dBpoweramp to output a log file. If you read it, you will see how many frames needed individual re-reads (which causes a "warning" unless AccurateRip matches), and how many are bad.

A CD player will interpolate over errors (i.e. guess and smoothen out). A CD-ROM player will too. Whether you are able to tell the difference by ear or not, depends not only on the extraction quality of the drive, but also on how good its interpolation algorithm.

Usually, you will be better off NOT to check dBpoweramp's "interpolate" option, because dBpoweramp's algorithm is, frankly, hopeless, and you'd probably be in bad luck if your drive is worse at this particular task.

The % in EAC does not relate to error count, only re-tries.

If you switch on a Complete secure log you can see how many frames have errors.

not sure how or where to get to the complete secure log, is there a threshold amount of re ripped frames that would make a song file unusable/playable?

Re-ripped frames are not a problem if they are recovered. The problem is unrecoverable frames (EACs % is the former and latter, not just the latter).

You can enable the log file >> CD Ripper >> Options >> Secure Options (at the bottom of the page).

I think Spoon answered your question about the log. Just above that is a section to set when to abort the rip. I always set to abort after 1 unrecoverable frame and leave "When have to re-rip" set to no abort.
