    Unable to vary drive speed?

I'm trying to refine the settings on my DupliQ. In particular, I'd like to configure it to re-rip at a lower speed, since the only times it has had to re-rip are when it's cranking along at high speed.

But the Secure settings page only lists "Maximum" and "40x" (also the maximum) as the available speed options.

Is that an inherent problem of using a USB-based drive? Is that a quirk of the DupliQ drive (a Pioneer DVR-116)? Is it a bug in R13.3? Or am I just dense?

If I remember correctly, this is because most drives actually rip better at their max speeds (with some exceptions), and I think most drives didn't obey the CD Ripper in the past, so very few drives let you slow the ripping there. I think Nero's CDSpeed or whatever its called will let you slow down the drive and then rip with dMC.
