I know, I know. People hate trying to recommend drives because of an ever changing market, but . . . I need a new one, and the external USB drive I just got doesn't seem to fit the bill so it's going back. I'm looking at a Pioneer DVR-A18MBK1 , and a LG Electronics GH22NP20 22X. Any new drives on the market that would easily beat these? Anyone recently get a drive they are happy with?
EDIT just found a used Benq DW1620 on eBay. It's on the most reliable list. Of course, it's an older drive so who knows what kind of mileage is on it . . . a bunch of Plextor PX-716A's USED and or refurbished too.
