Pop sound heard in between tracks

    Hello,

I am using dbpoweramp to rip cd into wave files, and have them streamed to my Denon AVR-4308 amplifier using Asset R2. It is found that there is pop sound in between every track transition. I didn't dig into the detail yet where the pop sound is from: ending track, or starting track.

However, when I just use Windows Media Player 12 (Windows 7) to rip the same CD and use Asset R2 as the streaming software, no pop sound will be heard then.

Any advice on the cause of the issue?

The Denon does not like the ID tags in the wave files, this is poor programming on denons part. Anyhow in dbpoweramp configuration >> codecs >> advanced

You could enable the option in asset to stream wave as wave, this will remove the tags before they get to the denon.

Thank you for your quick response. Spoon.

It works, by applying the little trick suggested!! The pop sound is gone now.

I also thought the pop sound was coming from the ID tag issue, but i don't know why the .wav ripped by WMP doesn't have this issue. I can see WMP also adds tag to the .wav files by looking at the file properties.

I also tried to remove all tags from the .wav files ripped by dbpoweramp, but no luck. Pop sound still appeared.
