file record-length error

Hi:
I purchased the cdRipper a few days ago (dMC-R13.3-Ref-Registered.exe)
It worked fine, fast and no problems were found.
Except one: sometimes, it saves an m4a (AAC) file with a too long filename (the too long filename was received from the internet when the tag was being updated by cdRipper).
The result is that the .m4a filename can not be edited.
The checkdisk.exe also reports an internal error on this .m4a file.
I suspect that my NTFS does not accept filenames longer than 178 bytes (not including the path): I have never had this problem before.
Why is cdRipper generating such an error on my harddisk ?
And how may I restore the file, editing the wrong filename that was recorded by cdRipper (and not simply deleting it)?

ps: I use Windows XP-64 with NTFS; I also have Nero full last version installed (but I dont use it because it sometimes crashes my XP-64...)

NTFS can have 65000 characters in the filename, but for practical purposes Windows Explorer does not like anything above 255 (when tested in vista).

OK, tks 4 info.
Then, how may I restrict filenames length to some limit (say, 160 bytes) within cdRipper ? This would save my time with tags and filenames pos-editions.

There is a [maxlen] programmable element, wrap it around the whole filename

I found the "Maxlength Programmable actions on elements". Could you please explain how to specify the string length.

[MAXLENGTH]50,[artist] - [title][]

This sets the artist - title string to a maximum of 50 chars.

Thanks for your very quick response. While implementing the maxlength solution I realized that I had caused the file length problem with a long naming set. When I chose the default naming set my problem was solved.
