I have installed RipNas Essentials + Teac drive (secure abilities) on my HP Media Smart Server with WHS OS. I currently use my server for a Linn Klimax DS, a Sonos System and iTunes. So my preferred mode of ripping is in ALAC.
Currently I have about a 30% chance of ripping to ALAC without error. If errors occur I will keep re-ripping the CD until I get an error free rip or an accumulation of 3 to 4 rips which usually gives me all of the songs. If I rip to FLAC, I have a 95% chance of getting an error free rip (but bye-bye iTunes).
I see no difference in switching between secure and unsecure.
I have also demo dBpoweramp CD Ripping on the same system with good success in ripping to ALAC.
What I am missing?
