    Artist Folders?

How do I make songs I rip go into Artist Folders and Album Folders with this program?

I am making the tracks look like:

    01 First Song Title

I can't figure out how to make it go into folders.

Also, is there a way to edit out completely the tags like:

    Audio Quality
    Encoder
    Encoder Settings
    Contains blah blah blah

These things I don't care about just want the album information / bit rate / etc.

    Thanks.

These are not tags, rather settings in the codec.

By default tracks are saved into an Artist\Album folder.

      Hi Spoon

Well, I'm new to tagging. I have used Windows Media Player all my life to rip stuff and it has completely failed me (won't connect to the internet) and I have tons of CDs to rip. This program was recommended to me.

The question is...I know the songs go into an artist folder automatically. Somehow I messed it up though and now they just go into the root folder.

I just need a) the songs to go into Artist > Album folders.

And b) I just want my tracks to look like this: 01 First Song Title

I cannot figure out how to do both simultaneously. Please give me a step by step on how to do this. Thank you.

You need to change the naming settings in the CD Ripper to something like

        [artist]\[album]\[track] [title]

If you have the reference version you can do more complicated naming schemes based on compilations and/or multi disc sets.

That did not work. Now all songs went into a) separate song folders and b) into the root directory.

          Please help.

            Please cut and paste the naming settings string from your ripper interface (bottom left hand side) into a posting so we can see what might be wrong. As noted, it should be;
            Code:
            [artist]\[album]\[track] [title]
And above this in the "path" it should be your root directory for your music. For example, if this is: "c:\my music\", enter this (without the quotes). So when you are ripping, it should put music in directory:

c:\my music\Bob Dylan\Blood on the Tracks\01 Tangled up in Blue

etc. When you click on "set" to do this, you see a screen that should show you what the directory naming will do (with madonna as an example).

              D:\Music\[artist]\[album]\[track] [title]

This is what I have in the path.

In the naming box I have: [track] [title]

Using these, I got: a) a separate folder for each song and b) the songs dumped into the root directory.

EDIT: Fixed it. I had to take off the last part (the track and title). Everything seems to work now. I'm sure I'll have more questions later.
              Thanks for the advice, guys.

The path should only contain the path to the root folder of your collection and not include any of the [tag item] entries.

your path should just be D:\Music\

the naming scheme should be [artist]\[album]\[track] [title]
