Ripping Speed

Hi Everyone,

Why is dBpoweramp displaying that it is ripping at a x2.9 speed, while I hear the drive spinning at full speed?

The speed indicator is pretty accurate, at x3 speed it would take about 20 minutes to rip the CD, at full speed about 3 minutes.

Hi Spoon,

I understand. However the cd drive is noisily spinning full speed, like if it was ripping at x33, and dBpoweramp is displaying it is ripping at x3. I am just trying to understand if there is a discrepancy somewhere.
