Incorrect Command Line Arguments Passed to LAME

I just downloaded the dBpoweramp CD Ripper and found out that apparently, incorrect command line arguments are being passed to the LAME MP3 encoder for 'mode' when the user selects stereo (-m s). It instead encodes with joint stereo (-m j).

    For reference, the modes are:

    -m m mono
    -m s stereo
    -m j joint stereo
    -m f forced mid/side stereo
    -m d dual (independent) channels
    -m i intensity stereo
    -m a auto

Will this be fixed soon? Thanks.

I understand that it is not doing what it should, and if thats the case it should be fixed.

On another note, why do you not want joint stereo? Many people have incorrect assumptions about joint stereo, and there is a lot of incorrect info on the web about it. My recommendation would be to use joint stereo.

      Thank you EliC.

I will take your opinion into consideration and will personally evaluate the joint stereo and stereo modes side by side. As soon as dBpoweramp fixes this minor glitch in an otherwise great audio software

This is by design, choosing of the better (and default in lame) mode, you can force stereo on one of the other options.

That did it, thanks. Now I can sleep tight

You just made a sale for the Ref version, family pack.

I wonder how may PCs is a "family". I have two that definitely need the software and maybe one more...

I'll find out when I go to the registration page for sure.

          Thanks again.
