Padding of track number in filename

I'm sure the answer to this must be staring me in the face, but I'm still having difficulty working my way through the program's labyrinthine settings structure....

In my MetaData options I have "pad track number to 2 digits" de-selected, and track numbers have single-digit entries as expected.

However when I use [track] in my file-naming path, track numbers appears in the filename with two digits (01, 02 etc). How to I change this behaviour?

That option only affects the tags, not the naming.

Thanks for the response. Are you saying that the two-digit track number in the filename cannot be manipulated (other than manually changing them to single digit after ripping)?
