    read this:

make a test disc. if your drive can read HTOA, then leave the box unchecked. If your drive cannot read HTOA then check the box.

Thank you for your answer. I remember that I've had this kind of cd. I've tried with it. Queens of the Stone Age / Songs for the Deaf. I've ripped it in flac. (00 Hidden First Track (ability to rip depends on CD drive). But I don't know if somebody has tried to rip this one because it is absolutely inaudible. It is not a song but an accumulation of sounds at the beginning and at the end of the track. So I do not really if the rip is correct or not. I've seached with Google but not found a list of cd which have a HTOA.

A comprehensive list of hidden tracks, secret songs, and easter eggs from your favorite CDs and albums.

Information about the hidden track "The Real Song For The Deaf" by Queens Of The Stone Age from the album Songs For The Deaf including background information and how to find it.

It does not harm the drive to attempt?

If my main ripping drive could not read HTOA, I would still prefer a silent track zero, just to flag that "if you really care about the HTOA you need to re-rip this CD". Just my preference.
