Dual Core and WAV files

When I was using FLAC my setup which has a dual core processor would work on 2 files at once. Now that I am converting/ripping to WAV only one file at a time. Is this behavior correct?

Correct, as wave is not encoded there is no point in putting out to multi cpus.
