I just downloaded dbpoweramp yesterday to convert my cd's to digital (over 10,000..many bootlegs). For cd's that are not in the database, the track names come up as track1, track2..track10, etc. Itunes is smart enough to insert leading zeros in the track name, so instead of track1, it would be track01, keeping the playlist in order. DBPoweramp doesn't seem to have this feature. Please let me know if there is a way to insert a leading zero, without renaming the tracks manually, to keep the track numbering straight. So far it's the only flaw I've come across that would keep me from purchasing DBPoweramp. Itunes did a good job ripping, but I learned that when it encountered an error, it would not notify me so I wouldn't be aware of a bad rip. DBPoweramp either got past the bad rips or informed me of errors. I was very impressed. I am not happy about the track numbering though. This seems pretty simple, and should be standard in any ripping software. Thanks.
How to put leading zero in track name?

Re: How to put leading zero in track name?
Freedb, or any of the others listed on dbpoweramp. When you stick a cd in the drive, the track listings are automatically retrieved. If the cd is not part of Freedb, or the others, as many of mine won't be because they're home made, the track names come up as track1, track2..track10, track11. So the numbering sequence on a playback will look like this:
track1
track11
track12
track13
track2
track3
track4
This is obviously not the track order of the disc. Itunes track naming sequence has leading zero's in track 1 thru 9, so it will look like this
track01
track02
track03
.
.
.
track10
track11
Which is the correct sequence of the disc. I don't want to jump through hoops to rename tracks on the disc. I want them to come up as track01 instead of track1, like it does in itunes.
DBPoweramp seems to be the preferred audio tool for folks who collect live recordings. This seems to be a very simple problem that should have been rectified in the early stages of development for this type of software, and it's the only thing that's keeping me from purchasing it at this point.Comment

Not if he is talking about filenames. But you could do it with some clever naming string (ie detect that artist has no value and set the filename to track[tracknumber]Comment

Sorry to say that I could not find this new version of the ripper. Could you please help me out and do a instuction path for me?
And yes: it should come to my ID tag like this as a default: "Madonna\Immaculate\05 - Madonna - Holiday".
So there should be a leading zero in the tag?
My file format is FLAC and MP3
Thank You in advance!Last edited by asimplyreminder; February 24, 2015, 01:34 PM.Comment
