CD Ripper Crashes

I had previously been using version 12 of dbpoweramp and then recently when I attempted to rip a cd, the program would crash whenever I clicked on the Rip button. I uninstalled version 12 and installed version 13 and still have the same problem. I am running XP.

dbpowramp appears to read the CD Ok as it is able to load all the CD info and communicate with AccurateRip. It does create a folder and extracts the cd artwork but that is as far it gets before crashing.

I selected the debugging option and am pasting the log file below. Can anyone help?

Ok, I uninstalled dBpoweramp, ran the additional cleaning program that was in the previous post's link, and then ran CC Cleaner to remove any other traces. I reinstalled the registered version of 13.2 and still am getting the same problem. Any other thoughts?

Have you tried another ripper, such as EAC? it would eliminate many possible problems if that can rip.

I've had EAC installed for quite awhile and that rips fine. I was also able to rip the cd using windows media player.

The crash is in set drive speed, so set it to Maximum so that CD Ripper does not try to set it.

Ripping Speed is set to maximum, still same problem.

You aren't using another program, such as Nero's CDSpeed, to adjust the speed of the CD drive, are you?

I had recently run Nero's CD speed but I didn't use it to control of the speed of the drive. Just to be certain, I uninstalled Nero from my PC and used CC Cleaner to clean out the registry. I restarted the PC and then went to use dBpoeramp and still experience the same problem.

Actually looking at the code when maximum is set it is set to 0xFFFF which is correct. dBpoweramp Crashes? or just freezes?

I am guessing there might be an SCSI filter installed which is interfering with the SCSI commands as they are passed to and back from the drive. You mentioned it worked once, then stopped working, any other software installed? (as dBpoweramp has not changed and the drive its self has not changed).

I had upgraded to the newer version of Quicken recently. I don't recall whether or not I had used it after I installed the new version.
