Last track on CD inaccurate but secure

Not all of the time, but frequently, when I rip a CD in AccurateRip, all tracks will be Accurate but the last one, which comes out "X AR (#), [check] Secure." Could this be a sign of problems with my CD/DVD drive? Others run into this pattern?

Depends on the AR (x) number.

Here's my breakdown of the 75 CD's I've ripped so far:

18 with all but one ripped Accurately; last one inaccurate, but secure.
"Confidence" numbers as follows: 1,2,3,3,4,4,6,6,8,10,10,12,15,16,20,33,36,80

19 with all tracks ripped Accurately
"Confidence" numbers as follows:
1,1,3,4,5,6,6,6,7,8,9,13,14,16,16,24,52,67,102

19 not in AccurateRip, secure (my music selection is pretty eclectic, so this does not surprise me)

7 all tracks inaccurate, secure

1 track with mix of Accurate and not in AccurateRip-secure

1 track with mix of inaccurate-secure and not in AccurateRip-secure

I'm not sure I see a pattern with the numbers. Thanks for your help on this.

What is the DVD drive?

It is the drive on my laptop, a Dell Inspiron 1525, drive is listed as:
"TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-L632H ATA Device."

If you think my results indicate, or have knowledge or experience that says this is not a very good drive, what would you recommend as a good external CD/DVD drive? (I see that you use a TEAC drive in your RipNAS system.) I am not ready to move up to a home server at this point.

Thanks for pointing me to the list of drives. Whatever I had used earlier to search for such info didn't get me there. Of course I'm now more confused, because the drive I have is on the list with over 99% accuracy! I didn't go too far in checking, but I didn't find any external drives among the most accurate ones. I will check again when I need a new drive or computer. Thanks again for the support.

I can confirm this behaviour!

ca. one third of the ripped CDs state on the last track to be inaccurate, but secure. I tried actually to reverify some of the rips with a different drive and got the same, inaccurate but secure (even with the same checksum).

My drives are:
LiteOn LH-20A1L (primary) and
Plextor Premium CD-R (to verify)

could it have to do with the "read into lead in/out" option?

Should not be anything to do with lead-in out as AccurateRip is immune to such.

after having ripped quite a few CDs I must correct the numbers slightly. It's less than a third of the Discs it's more like ca. 20%. Of these very few also have the first track ripped inaccurate, but secure.

Any Idea what it could be? In another thread BruceH reported quite similar problems regarding red last tracks.
