    FreeDB There But Not There

I am confused (what else is new)
One of my cd's I place in the drive and CD Ripper finds no meta
So I go to freedb.org an search for the CD and it shows up
Can someone tell me why this is?
Then my next question would be what is the easiest way to get this data into CD ripper. Do I copy and paste the data from freedb.org? Also I must be brain dead but I can't figure out how to edit the track names from Track 1, Track 2, etc to the names I find in freedb.org. I notice that freedb.org gives a disc ID number. I suppose I can't type that in anywhere to automatically get the data?

    Thanks for any help!

Re: FreeDB There But Not There

One of the reasons I am switching to dbpoweramp from EAC is that I was forced to use FreeDB which has terrible metadata. I would advise you not use FreeDB and use AMG, etc... instead.

dMC can use PerfectMeta for a $6/year subscription, which uses AMG, GD3, and MusicBrainz.

Re: FreeDB There But Not There

I have an R13 version that works fine but FreeDB has never seemed to work with it since R12. (Tried various FreeDB servers.)
I used to pay my yearly 6$... but not I don't like that I must update to R14 to get access to PerfecMeta (was working fine under R13).
Why is FreeDB said to be supported if it is not ? (Foobar or direct connect to FreeDB show all the albums I tested to be available on FreeDB)
I have been hesitating to buy the new version because this seems to my like bad business...
Any comments ? Does FreeDB work for you in dBPoweramp ?
        Thanks

Yes. Freedb works as one of my metadata providers in 14.3.

We have never had anyone complain that freedb does not work in any Rxx release.
