How to see rip status after rip completed

    Hi,

I've used dBp now for about 500 albums and I wonder if there is a way to see the status of the rip after it finishes (keep the status of the former rip in the window until the next one starts)? As it is now I know the rip is finished as the CD pops out, but it would be nice to know the status of ripped tracks instead of just a seeing a empty window with the insert new CD window overlaid.

If you are using Secure mode to rip, you can have it write a log file, or just tell dBpoweramp not to eject after finishing a rip.

      Hi,
      Thanks for the fast answer.
I am using AccurateRip so I think that is Secure mode?

My problem is that I use my laptop for ripping and at the same time for reading ebooks as I'm ripping my complete CD collection. I don't want to have to look at a log file to see status of a rip and I do want to be alerted of the finish of the rip by the tray opening.

Maybe this could be a new feature for the next release, to have the latest rip results remain in the window until the next rip starts?

Click on the options button, it will tell you what mode you are in, whether it's Burst, Secure, or Defective By Design. Note that Secure requires the PowerPack or greater.

Have you tried setting the Information log to pop up at the end of a rip?

There's the big Options button and to the right a tiny little "down" triangle. If you click on the triangle, select "After Ripping", and select Display Information Log, then even when you reject, you get a page of output about the status of all of the tracks.

If the information isn't substantial enough, go into Options button, Secure Settings and scroll down to the bottom. Select the last item, "Add To Information Log (shown after ripping)".

I had this exact same problem - the problem stems from the fact that you have the program set to auto-eject after ripping. As soon as you eject, you lose the graphical output. The workaround is to disable the auto-eject feature and manually eject. It's a bit more work, but the ability to be able to quickly scan the graphical summary of the rip is more than worth it.

To paraphrase the original poster's feature request - when you use the auto-eject feature, it erases the graphical summary of each ripped track. This can be replaced by a popup of the log file, but this isn't graphical or easily read.

The problem is there are two labor saving features:
            1. auto-eject after rip
            2. graphical summary of the track rips with accurate rip, secure, and error icons, etc.

These two features can't be used together with the present functionality. I believe it would be an excellent enhancement if the summary of the last cd rip remained until the next CD was inserted rather than erasing it from the screen on ejecting the current cd.

edit: after re-reading the original poster's request I think an audible alert might also be neccessary to indicate the rip completed - this may already exist, not sure.

Alt + E will eject the CD ifI remember correctly.

I'm using Secure mode to rip and version 13.1 (latest?)so the logs are there, but I'm also lazy and have a lot of CD's to rip so going into the log after every rip is not the answer (thanks anyway, LtData).
Having the log pop up after the rip is better (thanks, bhoar) but not a perfect solution, it is harder to get the quick overview of the result from the log pop up.
I'll try to rip some Cd's without autoeject and using Alt-e to see how that works (thanks Idolse and Spoon).

Now I've ripped some cd's without autoeject and using Alt-e to eject, but most importantly, using the DSP/Action "Play sound after conversion".
                  This works real nice. :D
                  Thanks everyone for your help.
