    XMCD Parsing

    Hi,

Your logic for splitting compilation albums would seem to only work (by design) where there is something ( / or -?) for all the tracks. Can this not be changed so that it will, as everything else I use (and have written) seems to do, in taking the album artist as the track artist where no splitter is found?

It depends where your metadata is from, AMG and GD3 are very different to freedb.

      Re: XMCD Parsing

      Hi,

I have no clue what format the AMG or GD3 arrives in, the XMCD is the name of the format for CDDB (and therefore FreeDB) files. However I would have thought that my proposal would apply to all metadata sources. The current handling is particularly annoying with such as albums with a (guest) artist on a track.

The others do not require it as artist and title are seperate. The XMCD spec does state that / should be used.

          Hi,

My question doesn't relate to the separators, just your handling of albums where there aren't separators for all tracks.

Can you give an example XMCD dump?

Thanks... along with Unix structured XMCD files?
