dsp effects

I'm a new user who is going to be ripping my music using dbPoweramp. I'll be ripping to .flac files. When I rip using a dsp effect (such as volume leveling), will it negatively affect the "pure fidelity" of the file?

If you use the Volume Normalize DSP effect, it alters the data in the file, technically no longer making it a loseless copy of the original.
