What gives me the best audio when ripping to FLAC?

I'm basically using all of the default settings and was wondering if there was a "recommended setting" to get the best results.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but .flac files are all lossless so they sound equally good.

The higher the compression, the more the decoding software will have to work and in certain situations (slow processor) that may bog things down.

    Anyone else?

PS I use the highest compression to maximize storage capacity. I have a lot to store.

Best results, usually, with a drive supporting C2 error pointers. It will detect more rip errors. Go to Options an then review RIPPING METHOD --> Secure Settings, and CD-ROM --> Drive [Technical]

Apart from that, there are lots of more or less accurate recommendations around as of "which drive to use".
