Some Ripped Tracks are only 5k instead of Mbytes in size

I am using Reference 13.1 beta with the WMA r6 beta :smile2: codec

I am encoding to WMA 9.2 Lossless with the default settings

Sometimes, I would receive the All Clear from AccurateRip for the whole disk and then I would find that one of the tracks was only 5kb in size

If I reripped that track, it would be the correct size

Thus, I selected 'After Encoding Verify Audio' as an attempt to catch this at the ripping stage because I do not want to manually check the file folder each time after ripping using Windows Explorer. This did not resolve the situation

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

    Thank you in advance
    Nigel

Have you attempted to refresh the folder to see if it is actually 5k, and not the Windows size information is lagging?

(Try to create a copy of the file and see what happens. See file properties.)

That's a good idea thank you When it next happens I will do it

I should add that in happens to files, so far, that are near the beginning or middle of the album and not at the end

I see consistent 5 kByte files for tracks where I clicked the "skip" button. May be any abort for any reason results in the typical 5 kByte.

        cheers,
        Nick.

This is the first 5k file I have since I started this thread and I can confirm that it happens when I press the Cancel Rip button

R13.1 when released will write the part file.

I assume that your 5k file(s) are unplayable.
I have not seen this happen in dMC 13.1 but I have not done much ripping/converting in a while. I have known earlier versions of dMC to sometimes fail a rip or conversion (especially if converting a large number of files, especially if the files are of different formats) but still creating a shell file of 0 to 10kb and if this is happening when you cancel a rip, this may be the same type of phenomenon.

              Best wishes,
              Bill
