CD Ripper does not recognize HP tablet DVD-RW drive

I installed version 13 of dBpoweramp in an HP Pavilion Tablet PC.

The model number is HP Pavilion TX2500.

    There is a DVD-RW drive.

dBpoweramp does not recognize the drive despite Windows Media Player and another ripper recognizing the drive and playing the CD fine.

    Any thoughts or solutions?

    Thanks.

The drive would have to report its self as a CD drive, you might think it is obvious but some cd drives do not.

      I understand.

Would WMP, WinAmp, and another ripper work well without this "report?"

Is it reported as a SATA or IDE (PATA) drive?

          Running Vista?

Did you install the service to allow access to the drive under limited accounts?:

In Vista, the drive seems to be identified as an ATA drive in the Device Manager.

I installed the app you posted, Spoon.

Is there further configuration required? The drive still is not recognized by dBpoweramp.

            Thanks for your time.

Windows Device Manager identifies the drive as follows:

                  TSSTcorp CDDVDDW TS-L633A ATA Device

                  Thanks again for your time.

The CD Ripper does not recognize the drive as the title of this thread indicates.

jim - have you tried the beta of R13.1? The link is at the top of the beta subforum.
