CD Ripper R13 hangs repeatedly after every few CDs

I'm using CD Ripper to convert all of my CDs to m4a for ipod lossless. After every few CDs, the 'encoding' message will hang at 98 or 99%. I'll select <cancel> to stop it, but CD Ripper will hang. Eventually Vista (Home Premium SP1) will recognize that it has hung and allow me to close the program. Once I start it again, it will work for a while longer.

Any suggestions?

Are you encoding to a local drive?

Yes, I'm encoding to a partition on my #2 HDD (Local Disc, NTFS, Primary Partition).

Are you encoding to m4a or ALAC? You mention "m4a for apple lossless", so I am unsure. Also, does this happen when encoding to a different codec? What version of dMC and are you running any DSP effects?

I've noticed it happens sometimes when ripping to .WAV files too. I tried that after it happened once to see if there was a problem with the M4A conversion.

I am not using any DSP effects.

You might have a virus checker which is locking the files when dBpoweramp is trying to tag them.
